RSS - Feed My Inbox

I'm not quite sure what to make of RSS feeds. It's convenient, but not a site I'll jump on everyday. I can count on one hand the amount of times I've jumped on Bloglines since last years RSS feeds training. The idea of receiving up to date news from all your current interests at one site makes sense, but does it make it fun? I jump on Google (I know, I know)type in separate interests and receive screes of hits, the logical step is to get an RSS feed from the sites I enjoy - it won't take long, shouldn't be too hard but I can't be bothered. I'd rather trawl and hit a caption that tickles my fancy everytime rather than have it readily available from one site just waiting for me, no fuss. It makes no sense. On Google there is a possibility of finding something new, something better...a mate tells me I'm an idiot, because you can subscribe to RSS feeds as well as jump on Google. I find myself in a losing argument.

  1. RSS is not for everybody and fair enough! I used Bloglines right up until countil IT shut it down GRR. Then moved to Google Reader but oohh it's so UGLY. These days I tend to follow stuff that seems quirky but - other than the Effing Librarian's blog - don't avidly follow anything regular. Twitter keeps me busy enough looking up links >.<
